This book is the interpretation of the torture, and eventual murder of a young girl named Sylvia Likens. I wasn't interested. The Likens parents were invited to host a booth at a state fair, but they didn't want to have to make all of their kids come with them. A fairly well written account of the murder of a child in Indiana. It was written by a newspaper reporter, is a fast read and pretty much covers the facts and not much else.
